Red Clover - This beautiful flower has a moistening quality and an affinity to the salivary glands. It is also relaxing and can help shift the nervous system into parasympathetic mode, which is conducive to better digestion and salivation. Small to medium doses of 1-10 drops of tincture may be enough. Capsules, powder, or tea at regular doses may also be effective.
American Ginseng - This powerful plant is the cooling American counterpart to the warming Ginseng of Asia. One of its many claims to fame is its ability to moisten dried out areas and cool off an overheated system, bringing greater relaxation and rejuvenation. This, like Red Clover, may help shift the nervous system into parasympathetic mode, allowing for better digestive function and increased salivation. Small doses of 1-5 drops of tincture may be enough or at least a good starting point. Capsules or powder at regular doses may also be effective.
